Caledonian Marts Ltd had their weekly Sale of Prime Sheep & Cast Ewes.
Another mixed show of sheep from well fed to hill bred, all classes still reaching a flying trade. Numbers short to requirements again, many more could’ve been sold.
Prime Hoggs averaged 397ppk with an SQQ of 407ppk and £171 per head. The sale topped at 500ppk for a Cheviot from A A & J Brand, Nethermyres and for a Beltex from D S & RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill, and to £230 for a Beltex again from Easter Ochtermuthill.
Cast Ewes sold to £281 for a Suffolk from J A C Stewart, Kinninmonth, Fife.
Cast Tups sold to £151 for a Valais Blacknose from Donald Bruce, Bonny Brae, Cleish.
