Caledonian Marts Ltd had their weekly sale of 1394 Prime Sheep & Cast Ewes.
Overall average was 295p per kg with 40% of Hoggs forward being Blackfaces. White Faced Light Hoggs still selling to 320+ ppkg, however Heavy Hoggs still very hard to shift. The Sale topped at 411p per kg for a Texel from D L H Livestock, Back O’Hill, Torrance and to £190 for Beltex’s from D G C Stewart, Leysbent, Denny.
Cast Ewes sold to £170 for Texels from J H Duncan Livestock, Drumheldric,
Cast Tups sold to £160 for a Cheviot from T Mitchell, Easter Gormyre, Torphichen.
