Caledonian Marts Ltd had their weekly Sale of Prime Sheep & Cast Ewes. Hoggs were in huge demand with lights to heavies all selling extremely well.
Prime Hoggs averaged 355ppkg with an SQQ of 366ppkg and £159 per head. The sale topped at 471ppkg for Beltex’s from G & J Davie, Harviesmailing, Denny and to £220 for Beltex’s from S & JE Letter, Loch of Lowes, Dunkeld.
Cast Ewes sold to £215 for Texels from J A Stewart, Kinninmonth, Ceres.
Cast Tups sold to £200 for a cross tup from D MacGregor, Burnhead, Kilsyth.
