Sale of Prime Cattle, Young Bulls and OTM’s
48 Prime Cattle and Young Bulls forward met with an exceptional trade with more required weekly.
Prime Heifers averaged 405.5p per kg, selling to 445p per kg for a Limousin from A Pettigrew, Faskine, purchased by D Campbell & Son, Butchers, Callander and to £2950 for a Limousin from Ross Brothers, Strichen, purchased by H A Black & Sons, Butchers, Stirling.
Prime Bullocks averaged 392.3p per kg, selling to 425p per kg for a Limousin from J Collier & Son, Dullomuir, purchased by T Johnston, Butchers, Alloa, and to £2832 for a British Blue from G McFadzean, Woodhead of Mailer, purchased by J Gilvear & Sons, Stirling.
Young Bulls sold to 390p per kg for a Limousin from S Dick, Westerton and to £3458 again from Westerton.
35 OTM’s averaged 249p per kg and sold to 428p per kg for a British Blue from Ross Brothers, Strichen, and to £2780 for the same beast.
Dairy Cows sold to 283p per kg from D Morton, Hayston and to £2060 from the same home.
