Caledonian Marts Ltd had their weekly Sale of 1185 Prime Sheep & Cast Ewes.
Prime Hoggs averaged 327ppkg with an SQQ of 338ppkg.
Top price Hogg per kg went to DS & RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill, Muthill for Beltex’s selling to 448ppkg and to £210 for a pair of Beltex’s from D McVicar, Lephinchapel, Strachur.
Also incorporated in todays sale was the Show & Sale of Beltex Prime Hoggets with judging in the able hands of A Beaton of Gray Butchers, Stirling. His results were as follows:

Reserve Champion: D G C Stewart, Leysbent, £200
1st Prize Light Class: DS & RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill, £175
Cast Ewes sold to £259 for Texels from R Cook, Kinneil Mill, Linlithgow.
Cast Tups sold £205 for a Texel from G R Aitken, Traprain, Haddington.
