Sale of Prime Lambs and Cast Ewes.
Today Caledonian marts ltd also held their annual Christmas show and sale of prime lambs; The judging was very ably carried by Mr Craig Tulloch of WP Tulloch, Quality Butchers, Paisley.

1st C & K Malone, Pitcairn at 48kg £152
2nd D McLaren, Classlochie at 48.5kg £138
Texels (Pairs)
1st & reserve champion T Mitchell, East Gormyre at 49kg £205
2nd A & C Hamilton at £44.5kg £166
Beltex (Pairs)
1st & overall champion DS & RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill at 44kg £235
2nd DS & RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill at 46.5kg at £199
Both champion and reserve were purchased by Judge, WP Tulloch Quality Butchers Paisley.
Overall the lambs finished with an average of 300.38ppk. Considering the rain on their backs and a large show of blackfaces, a respectful average.
Selling to 534ppk for the overall champion from Easter Ochtermuthill purchased by the judge and to £235 for the same lambs.
Cast ewes met a powerful trade with plain ewes making serious money. With 446 ewes forward averaging £108.11 pph selling to £241 for texels from H C Maitland, Grange of Lindores.
