Another tremendous Ewe Lamb & Gimmer Show and Sale held at Caledonian Marts, with a great run of sheep from the start to the end. The fantastic show of sheep was met by a jumping ringside of buyers eager to snatch up what was on offer.
Caledonian Marts Ltd held their Annual Show and Sale of Scotch Mule Ewe Lambs, kindly sponsored by R. J. W Hunter Livestock Haulage and Woolkeepers.
The brilliant show of lambs was ably judged by Gavin Ross, Wardhead.
The Overall Champion went to C & K Malone, Pitcairn with the hammer going down at £250.
The Reserve Champion went to J R MacGregor, Burnhead selling to £210.
Third Place went to P J Laidlaw, Knowhead selling to £220.
The overall average for 1487 Scotch Mules averaged £176 (+£7 on the year).

A strong show of 646 Gimmers forward were met with a packed ringside full of eager buyers.
The sale topped at £335 for a pen of Suffolk X Beltex Gimmers from A McKenzie, Ardgate.
Mule Gimmers sold to £330 for a pen of thumping Gimmers from Ross Brothers, Wardhead.
