Caledonian Marts Ltd held their weekly Sale of Prime Cattle, Young Bulls & OTM’s.
Again Cow trade hotter in the ring than the weather outside with the Cally Cows off the thermostat! More needed!!
Prime Heifers averaged 391ppk selling to 430ppk for a Limousin from W M Pettigrew, Faskine purchased by D Campbell & Son Butchers, Callander and per head to £2720 for a Limousin from Ross Brothers, Wardhead.
Prime Bullocks averaged 371ppk selling to 392ppk for a Limousin from A Kennedy, Seggarsdean, East Lothian and per head to £2900 for a Limousin from Ross Brothers, Wardhead, Strichen.
OTM Cattle averaged 297ppk selling to 325ppk for a Limousin from W & R Thomson, Cairnbog and per head to £2700 for a Simmental from M Jack, Carriston, Fife.
OTM Males sold to £2800 for a Limousin again from M Jack, Carriston, Fife.
Black and Whites averaged 257ppk selling to 315ppk for a Friesian from Balgreggan Farms, Stranraer and per head to £2360 for a Friesian W A Hume, Easter Clune.
