Caledonian Marts Ltd had their weekly Sale of 864 Prime Sheep & 111 Cast Ewes.
Following the national trend there was a mixed show of Hoggs forward today. Straight export hoggs reached 390-420ppk. Cast Ewes remain a flying trade, more hoggs and ewes required weekly to fulfil demand!
Prime Hoggs averaged 385ppk with an SQQ of 394ppk and £166 per head. The sale topped at 524ppk for a pair of Beltex’s from DS & RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill and
£235 for another Beltex from the same home.
Cast Ewes sold to £341 for a pair of Texel ewes from E Robertson, Skeoch.
Cast Tups sold to £221 for a Texel from A Dunn, Redhall.
