Stirling - Caledonian Marts (Stirling) Ltd (Thursday 2nd February) sold 232 cattle at their weekly primestock sale comprising 126 Bullocks and Heifers, 19 Young Bulls, 4 OTM Clean and 83 Cast Cows & Bulls.
A feature of the sale were eight pure bred beef bulls which averaged 817kg at 205p per kg or £1670 per head.
Bullocks (71) averaged 196p per kg and sold to 225.5p per kg, 650kg Limousin, Learielaw Farm, Broxburn or to £1577 per head for 735kg Limousin, Mains of Cultmalundie Farm, Perth.
Heifers (55) averaged 205.5p per kg and sold to 238.5p per kg, 550kg Charolais, Easter Auchtermuthill Farm, Muthill or to £1410 per head for 645kg Charolais, Moorfield Farm, Kilmarnock.
Young Bulls (19) sold to 211.5p per kg (twice), 715kg Limousin, Collielaw Farm, Carluke or to £1917 per head for 915kg Limousin, Woodhead of Mailer Farm, Perth.
OTM Clean Cattle (4) sold to 164.5p per kg for 615kg Simmental, Gartfairn Farm, Drymen.
